Description :
An improved prefs file for the deficons program distributed with the
NewIcons package.
This deficons program is the best one around certainly better than the
other whatis.library counterparts which are buggy and slow.
DefIcons is not included on this archive but on the NewIcons archive :
aminet: util/wb/NewIconsV2.lha
aminet: util/wb/NewIconsV2Lite.lha
If you dont know what the hell im talikng about ,or what are NewIcons,
or why do they look like little squares on your purple MagicWb
I suggest you take a look the above mentioned archives.
The brainfile may be used on any machine but the default icons are
for NewIcons users only.
This prefs file was compiled with SAS/C 6.56 Asm.
The Icons were made with Iconian.
Installation :
Copy all the files in the env subdirectory into your Envarc: directory :
the env/deficons.prefs file belongs in env:
teh env/sys/#?.info files belong in env/sys

All icons that have father objects (almost all do),may be substituted by
those father objects icons. Thus you may conserve in memory usage.
Almost all objects are lowlevel identified. This is a must,no filetype ID program
can identify ascii files without this therefor I used lowlevel for maximum safety.
XPK is supported to a high degree.XPK stores some id headers and these are
identified by deficons.Supported crunched files are IFF(not all),Wave,Sunaudio,
Executables. It Seemed pointless to add more since thses are the ones that are
most often crunched on most systems.
Acknowledgements:
Roger McVey,Phil Vedovatti which made numerous NewIcons off which my Icons
were based. Some of the icons on this archive are blant copies but I really
cant remember which.
Nicola Salmora for the deficonsprefs source.
Caveats :
There seems to be a bug with the rad disk. Its definetly not with this brainfile but here
is how it works : If the def_RADDisk.info icon does not match the RAD disk's setup
workbench will hang.By twiddling with this iv managed to create a working rad disk deficon
however im not sure it will work on rads that are not the same setup as a floopy drive.
My icon is also snapshoted in the middle of the screen so it doesnt clutter up the
drawers/partitions on the left.
Enjoy and report bugs and suggestions!
